Over the past 30 years I’ve spent a lot of time on the water in Southwest Alaska and have seen a lot of brown bears. Until now I haven’t painted one because I didn’t think the world need another ubiquitous bear painting.
When my good friend and photographer, Aaron Otto, joined me at Bristol Bay Lodge for the Artist-in-Residence Program he captured a stunning photograph of a brown bear… one unlike any I’ve ever seen. I knew the instant I saw it that I’d finally found the image I wanted to paint.
This signed and numbered limited edition fine art print is produced on heavy archival watercolor paper.
