Join me at Epic Narrows Musky Camp – Lake of the Woods, Ontario
July 23 to 28, 2026
Last summer, I traveled with a small group of fly fishermen to Epic Narrows Musky Camp, on Lake of the Woods, Ontario.
It was a great experience… and I’m going back.
The lodge accommodates six anglers, and I’m looking for five others to join me.
The Fishing – We saw fish every day, had follows to the boat, had fish in the figure-eight, and the occasional eat. In short, it was musky fishing.
I landed two good fish in five days of fishing, a 44-inch musky, and a spectacular 44-inch northern pike… along with other smaller pike and the occasional smallmouth bass.
The Lodging – We fished from two venues over the five days, the first just a short boat ride from Kenora – a modern and comfortable lake home.
The other venue was a magical log lodge on a small, remote island… we fished our way to it on the third day, and fished from there for the last two. It was delightful… like going back in time 100 years. Both venues were nice. Fishermen sleep two to a room at both venues.
The chefs are awesome, and we ate very well. There’s not a commercial kitchen at the outpost lodge on the island – yet – but we brought pre-made meals with us to warm up, and it was perfect.
The Travel – We flew into Winnipeg the evening before going to the lodge and spent the night in a very comfortable hotel with a bar and a great restaurant.
We were met the following morning by a driver and a comfortable van and drove one hour west, where we were met by the lodge’s crew, and transferred to their vehicles for the one hour drive to Kenora. From Kenora, it was a 1/2 hour boat ride to the lodge in a large, comfortable, covered boat, and fished through the afternoon and into the evening.
Going home was the reverse – a short boat ride to Kenora, a two-hour drive to Winnipeg, boarding our flights home in the afternoon, and arriving home in the evening.
The Cost – The cost for the trip is $5,000 (CAN). This includes everything except airfare, the night in Winnipeg, any hard spirits you’d like to bring, and gratuities for the guides and the house.
Let me know if you have questions or if you’d like to reserve a spot on the roster. Additional information can be found on the lodge website.
