Painting Local

By February 3, 2013News Archive, Studio News

Going local seems to be the thing to do these days. Many of us search out locally grown fruit and vegetables, choose locally raised meats and dairy products. We try to support local businesses and artisans.

As an artist who travels extensively, I’m constantly exposed to rare and exotic images, and it’s all too easy for me to take for granted where I live, and overlook the beauty that surrounds me. I was recently commissioned to paint a large nocturne, an evening or night scene, of the St. Croix River. These are studies for the painting to come; a large four foot by three foot canvas.

These nocturnes are 14 x 11 inch oils on board. Each is priced at $1500.
