Details

I grew up reading Dave Whitlock’s books about fly fishing and fly tying, and his work played a large part in my journey to becoming a fly fisherman and guide. Those books still hold honored spots in the studio library.

I was asked to contribute artwork to a Fly Fishing Federation publication, “Fly Tying for All Fish, All Waters”, released in early summer 2025. One section of the book, “Looking Back”, includes essays about legendary tyers, and Emily Whitlock has included a story about Dave. I’m honored that my drawing of “Dave’s Hopper” illustrates it.
